CallagentAI vs Goodcall, in one paragraph
Goodcall charges by how many different people call you. We charge a flat monthly rate. Goodcall starts at $79/month against our $45, and its bill moves with the number of unique callers rather than minutes or total calls — an unusual model that is genuinely fairer than per-minute billing, but harder to predict. The detail that catches people out is that each phone number is a separate agent at full price, so a business with three lines pays three times.
If you have one number and a stable customer base, Goodcall's model is reasonable. If you have several numbers, or your caller mix changes month to month, flat billing is easier to live with.

What "unique caller" billing actually means {#unique-caller}
This is the interesting part, and to be fair to Goodcall it is a thoughtful model.
You are not charged per minute or per call. You are charged by how many different people rang you in the month. If the same customer calls five times about one job, that is one unique caller, not five calls.
Why that is genuinely good: it does not punish you for long, useful conversations the way per-minute billing does, and repeat callers are effectively free.
Where it gets awkward: it is hard to forecast. Most business owners know roughly how many calls they take. Almost nobody knows how many distinct people called them last month, so you are estimating a number you have never measured. Guess low and you pay $0.50 per caller over the cap.
The per-agent catch {#per-agent}
Each AI receptionist tied to a phone number counts as one agent, and each agent is charged at plan price.
So a business with a main line, a service line and a second location on Goodcall's Growth plan is $129 × 3 = $387/month, not $129. That is a real difference and worth checking against your own setup before comparing headline prices.
Flat-rate plans generally do not multiply this way, which matters more the more numbers you run.
Where Goodcall is genuinely better {#goodcall-wins}
- The unique-caller model is fair on repeat business. If the same customers ring you often, you are not billed for it. For a business with a small loyal base, this can work out very well.
- A 14-day fully featured trial. Two weeks with everything unlocked is a generous way to evaluate.
- 17% off for annual billing. A straightforward discount, clearly published.
- Established in the small-business space with a longer public track record.
Where CallagentAI is better {#callagentai-wins}
- Predictable bill. $45/month regardless of who called or how often. Nothing to forecast.
- Multiple numbers do not multiply the price.
- Outbound as well as inbound. The same agent can work a lead list or confirm appointments — see AI cold calling.
- Lower entry price — $45 against $79.
- Language switching mid-call, which matters if your customers do not all speak the same language.
Which should you pick? {#which}
Choose Goodcall if you have one number, a stable and largely repeat customer base, and you like that heavy repeat callers cost you nothing extra.
Choose CallagentAI if you run more than one number, your caller mix is unpredictable, you want outbound calling too, or you would simply rather have the same figure on the invoice every month.
Either way, work out your unique callers first. It is the number Goodcall's pricing depends on and the one you almost certainly do not know. Pull last month's call log and count distinct numbers before you compare anything.
And do the same test on both: call them. Our AI answering service page has a call button — interrupt the agent, change your mind halfway, ask something awkward. Voice is the one thing a pricing table cannot show you. We ran the same comparison against Upfirst and Rosie.
FAQ {#faq}
How much does Goodcall cost? Published plans are $79/month (Starter), $129 (Growth) and $249 (Scale), with roughly 17% off for annual billing. Billing is based on unique callers per month, with $0.50 per unique caller above your plan's cap.
What does Goodcall count as a "unique customer"? A distinct person calling you within the billing month. Repeat calls from the same number are not charged again, which is generous — but it makes the bill harder to predict than a simple call count.
Does Goodcall charge extra for more phone numbers? Yes. Each AI receptionist tied to a phone number is a separate agent charged at plan price, so three numbers on the $129 plan is $387 a month.
Is CallagentAI cheaper than Goodcall? At entry level, yes — $45 against $79. The gap widens if you run multiple numbers, because our flat rate does not multiply per number.
Can I keep my existing number with either? Yes. Both work by forwarding your existing business number, so nothing you have already published needs to change.
